Best Way To Lose Weight Fast

Whether it is for health reasons, vanity or just to be able to fit into their clothes, people have always tried to lose weight. The multi-billion dollar weight loss industry is testament to just how anxious people are to slim down. While everyone can agree that being obese is unhealthy, sometimes people go to extremes to try and lose weight quickly. Is there any kind of consensus on the best way to lose weight fast?

From a medical point of view, most doctors would tell you that it is unhealthy to try to drop weight very rapidly. They generally suggest eating less and exercising more. Along with smaller portions and healthier choices, you should get moving. While the advice is sensible, it does take time to reach your targeted weight goal. Many people become impatient and lose interest because they do not have the will power to only lose one or two pounds per week. That being said, following are some serious and not so serious suggestions on how you can quickly reduce your body weight.

FASTING

Fasting is an extreme approach to rapid weight loss. Naturally, if you do not ingest any food for 2 or 3 days, your body will burn some of the fat to get the energy it needs to function. While fasting for a day every so often might be a good way to cleanse your body, doing it for an extended period of time can cause serious medical issues.

Instead of completely fasting, you can still lose weight by dramatically reducing the amount of calories you take in each day. You can survive quite well and still reduce the pounds quickly if you limit your calories to 500 per day. Try to eat a lot of vegetables and drink a lot of water. Use vitamins and other supplements to make sure you get proper nutrition on your modified fast.

SWEATING IT OFF

Depending on your starting weight, you may have 25, 50 or even more pounds of excess bodily fluid that you can afford to lose. Losing water weight is usually only a temporary solution to your weight problem. Jockeys who must meet strict weight limits often resort to “steaming” the weight off in a sauna or hot box. This can produce dramatic weight loss in only a day or two, but, it can also be very dangerous if you take it to the extreme. You could easily become dehydrated which can lead to symptoms such feeling light-headed, getting muscle cramps or even problems with your heart.

GETTING SICK

If you get very sick with the flu or some sort of stomach virus, you probably will experience rapid weight loss. People who check into a hospital because they have severe edema, can be given medication that can remove 30-40 pounds of fluid in a matter of days. This is a way to lose pounds fast, but most people would agree, it is not the best way to lose them.

LAXATIVES OR ENEMAS

If you are willing to spend a bunch of time on the pot, you can literally drop as much as 20 pounds by taking laxatives or enemas to clear out your colon and intestines. Many people go around constipated. They can get rid of impacted or undigested food by having a series of bowel movements over a short period of time.

SURGERY

Getting your stomach stapled or having the fat sucked out of you through a surgical procedure is a guaranteed way to take off the pounds. Of course, taking such dramatic steps to lose weight is usually not recommended except for the morbidly obese patient.

A BIT OF COMMON SENSE

Losing weight quickly is not really a good idea. The best way to lose weight is to change your lifestyle and eating habits. Get on a good diet and do some more exercise. There is nothing wrong with taking 2 or 3 months to lose 20 lbs. In fact, if you take this approach, you will be much more likely to keep the weight off.
