How To Burn Belly Fat

There are three reasons for losing weight and getting rid of the body's excess fat - looking good, feeling good and being healthy. To achieve these, doing a lifestyle change, proper diet and exercise are highly recommended. However, there are certain issues that remain even when most of the unwanted weight had already been shed. One of these issues is the persistent presence of belly fat.

After a successful weight loss program, when most of the excess fat are gone, the next thing on the agenda is to tone and shape the body to make the muscles stronger and tighter. Toned muscles promote leaner appearance. However, there are stubborn body fat that persist even after a strict diet and rigid workout routine. There are tricks and tips on how to burn belly fat. While they are effective, they may take some time, patience and perseverance.

Eat Fat Burning Foods

Most diets are very limiting. Most of the time, diets are focused on reducing consumption of a particular food group, or eating in moderation. While reducing what one eats certainly helps weight loss, it only prevents weight gain. It does not help burn fats that already present in the body. However, there are certain foods that help burn fat. Protein-rich foods such as lean meats, legumes and whole grains increase the production of the Thyroid hormone T3, which, in turn, burns belly fat once and for all.

Eating Right

Eating fat burning foods at large amounts does not do anyone any good, nor does starving oneself. Eating the appropriate amount of food at the right time is crucial. It is highly recommended that those on a diet, eat smaller portions, but more frequently. Doing so would increase one's metabolism and avoid hunger pangs that lead to over-eating.

Do the Appropriate Workout Routine

Cardio exercises, also called aerobic exercises, are fat-burning exercises. Walking, running, dancing are tried and tested belly fat busters.

Weight training must also work in unison with cardio exercises. Doing so would tone down the muscles, making the body appear leaner and more taut. Crunches and weight lifting are examples of weight training exercises.

Water Retention

Reduce the appearance of flabby tummy by addressing the issue of water retention. It is a temporary solution which works if one is in a pinch and has to attend a party or gathering and want to look good. To stop the body from retaining water, give it all the water it needs. This means that one has to drink more water, enough to cover the body's requirement. Another way of reducing retained water in the body is to avoid salty food.

Time and again, the overall change in lifestyle is the most recommended method of weight loss. One must be patient, because results cannot be seen overnight. It may take weeks or months to visibly see the reduction of fat and decreasing of waistline, but the positive effect that proper diet and exercise brings to the body is just as important. Being stronger and healthier is just as important as being sexier.
